Bringing Barbeque to the slopes of Ellicottville
Slopeside Bar & BBQ, founded in 2014 by Bob Tekavec, was created with the vision of bringing home-style barbecue to Ellicottville, New York. The menu features smoked specialties such as pulled pork, ribs and smoked chicken all seasoned with Tekavecs’ own signature rubs. Not feeling like barbecue? Our menu features other crowd favorites such as hand-pattied burgers, steak, and broiled fish.
Tekavec's passion for the industry started early on as he grew up watching his parents, Jim & Janet Tekavec, run two successful restaurants in the village. The Gin Mill and Cadillac Jack's were both formerly owned and operated by the Tekavec family. At the age of fourteen Bob began washing dishes in the kitchen of Cadillac Jack's and worked his way to serving, bartending, etc. When it came time for college the decision to go for his bachelor degree in Hospitality Management was a no-brainer. Tekavec received his degree in 2007 from SUNY Plattsburgh.
After Tekavec's parents retired he knew it was time to start his own restaurant business. Dabbling in barbecue for most of his young adult life and considering Ellicottville had no other barbecue restaurants in the area, Slopeside was an easy choice.
Slopeside resides in the former location of Cadillac Jack's and prior to that the Telemark Restaurant. Since then the building has undergone numerous renovations including a brand new kitchen and a complete "face-lift" including new carpeting, an updated fireplace and tons of new decor!
Today Slopoeside is operated by Bob and his wife Katelyn, who you'll see working in the restaurant daily. They invite you to to join them for an apres ski expereince the whole family can enjoy.

We are located at the base of Holiday Valley Road with a killer view of the slopes from our expansive bar, just 127 steps from the Sunrise chairlift at Holiday Valley.
